Belfast movie screening..

Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Belfast is a film based on Northern Ireland in the late 1960's about a working class family trying to make it. The story is seen through Buddy (played by Jude Hill) and his love for his country, grandparents, parents, and friends.

The life for this family will become a struggle as they are met with the cultural divide between Catholics and Protestants and are being forced to take a side. This racial tension brings violence and war but Buddy and his family try to manage to live in the neighborhood despite the trials and tribulations however, the family will be threaten. Also, the economy was taking an ugly turn which has the family making the tough decision if they should stay.

At this screening, we met Professor Geraldine Higgins professor of Ireland studies at Emory University and her husband Robert who is part of the Aris Theater. They were excited about seeing this film and invited us to check out more works at the theater located in Hapeville, GA.

Belfast premieres in theaters Friday, November 12th. Recommend everyone to go see because this movie is relatable to any ethnicity group that has struggled with any type of discrimination just as Belfast....
