The BET Awards represent the time of year when everyone comes together to celebrate black excellence, while wearing their most show stopping looks! Here are a few of those premiere looks that caught our attention!
Justine Skye was serving major looks last night at the BET Awards! Her simple, yet chic look was everything! Honestly, we shouldn’t be surprised; she is known for her exquisite fashion taste. Justine wore an eye catching see-through, black, spaghetti-strap dress with embroidered sequin designs covering it. And if that wasn’t enough, the dress had a high cut slit to add that extra sexy flair! We can’t forget about the super cute heels she wore to top off the whole look. Justine Skye looked flawless last night, as always!
Queen Rihanna! Everyone’s favorite icon made an appearance last night at the BET Awards and we expected nothing less than for her to come dressed to impress. She has a reigning history of being the Queen of award shows because of her bold and tasteful fashion choices, and last night she proved that to us once again! She’s one of the only people I know who can pull off a full leather outfit. Of course this look came from her very own Fenty clothing line! Last night, Rihanna wore a sleek, black, fitted-leather fanny pack jacket that puffed out at the sleeves, and a matching pair of wide-cut leather pants with little slits at the end.She paired it with posh black heels and layered silver and diamond necklaces to give the outfit an extra pop!
Yara Shahidi is a young fashion mogul in the making. Last night, she looked stunning as always and had one of my favorite looks from the night! Styled by Jason Bolden, she wore a sequin, blue, high-low skirt, with a cream oversized-sweater tucked into it, and gray turtle neck underneath it. This combo may not have worked for some people, but Yara totally owned it! She took simple pieces and turned them into something amazing. Not only was her outfit on point, but the shoes were as well! She wore a pair of Christian Louboutin heels to bring the whole look together!
Not only are the BET Awards a night to celebrate black excellence in the industry, but we also get to see how we thrive and own the fashion world. One of my favorite parts of the award show is getting to see the many different looks from some of the most influential people in our culture. Justine Skye, Rihanna, and Yara Shahidi are just a few of those gems who shone brightly with their fashion choices last night!
