Challengers, a tennis player's nightmare...

Not your typical movie dealing with tennis players but a romantic sports film directed by Luca Guadagnino written by Justin Kuritzkes give us insight on what goes on with athletes behind the scenes in their personal life. In real life, we had had a chance to experience some of the with relationship drama through players like Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Grigor Dimitrov, Gael Monfils just to name a few.

This film attempts to bring some of that real life love triangle on screen. Let's see how this was done.

Tashi Duncan (played by Zendaya) is tennis prodigy until things take a turn where she suffers a career ending injury. She marries a tennis pro Art Donaldson (played by Mike Faist). He is a champion but now finds himself on a losing streak. He reaches out to his wife to coach him back to winning. Tashi begins to strategize the come back, only to run into obstacle of her husband competing against her best and ex boyfriend Patrick (played by Josh O'Connor) Oh what a tangle web we weaved. What she do for the love of the game, her relationship, and most importantly herself.

Zendaya embodies this character depicting women in the tennis world that have so much to maintain. And to top it off when both spouses are in the same sport and one is failing, can really put a strain on the marriage. She really played this part of cruelty, passion, and strength. The trio chemistry you felt and makes yu wonder what the tennis atmoshphere is really like. Different type of role for Zendaya than in the past and she nailed it.

The music is a bit loud and not enough to help exaggerate the plot of this film. However, for fans, in particularly tennis fans the rate for this movie is (3/4) 🍿🍿🍿 must 👀 In theaters Friday, April 26th....
