Xcellence Inc. Dr. Angella Banks hosted the Tommy Legacy A Thon Awards. This extravagant event was celebrating the life and community services the late actor had given doing his lifetime. The event was held in Atlanta GA at the Buckhead Art & Company. Dinner was provided by celebrity Chef Maurice.
The night was entertained by Emcees Gary's Tea from the Rickey Smiley Show and CEO of media company Epi Media Group Ebony Porter-Ike. And of course you know the night was full of jokes and laughter when it comes to Gary. He really kept the crowd laughing.
There were 3 honorees to be honor at the awards. Comedian Rodney Perry received the comedy award for one of the top comedians in the industry. Mr. Perry was one of Tommy's good friends and had worked together in mentoring young people.
Poet Hank Stewart received Humanitarian award. The Emmy Award winning poet is known world wide and has accomplish many community services with Tommy Ford. The philanthropist can be found most days dedicating his time to the Hank Stewart Foundation.
R&B singer Tony Terry received the Entertainment award. Tony and Tommy were very close friends and he was very humbled about receiving such a prestige honor.
The night was full of celebrities coming through to celebrate the life of Tommy Ford. I guess maybe this will disband the myth that "Tommy ain't got no job"
