Till movie world premiere red carpet screening..

Based on the true story of Emmett Till, this film centered around the view of the mother, Mamie Till-Mobley (played by Danielle Deadwyler. This film directed by Chinonye Chukwu, was done with class despite the brutal, horrific, and violent nature that took place against Emmett. The movie brought about educating us on hatred, racism and human rights seen through Mamie Till.

Mamie was reluctant to send her son to Mississippi knowing the conditions there. But Bo (Emmett) along with his grandmother (played by Whoopi Goldberg) wanted to go see his relatives. Emmett raised in Chicago, was not familiar with all the do's and don'ts for black people in the south. This was exemplified when once he innocently whistled at the white girl, he would experience the most heinous crime done to a human being.

Once notified of her son's death, Ms. Till-Mobley went on a continuous journey to find justice. Who knew that having an open casket showing the brutal body of her son would start the civil rights movement towards lynching. After 67 years, the bill was passed on March 29, 2022 called the Emmett Till bill that makes lynching a federal hate crime. All this came from a mother's eye.

This movie is a must see and premieres in theaters October 14, 2022

Cast members: Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Whoopi Goldberg, Sean Patrick Thomas and Haley Bennett
